The "Six-Pack" Starter Set is an economical way to test different gear ratios and find the optimum ratio for you and your machine before buying lightened and hardened premium steel or aluminum pinions. There are six different precision-cut steel pinions in each set, one set of even numbered teeth and one set of odd numbered teeth, see below for sizes. "Six-Pack" gears are not heat treated or plated so we recommended you use them with plastic spur gears.

STEEL ALLOY PINION GEARS
32 pitch alloy pinions are not heat treated and should only be used with plastic spur gears. If you only run plastic spur gears these pinions are the perfect choice. In sizes 9 through 22 teeth. 1/8 inch bore. One 5-40 set screw included. 1/16 inch allen wrench (NOT INCLUDED) fits the 5/40 set screw. 32 pitch Alloy Pinions are not marked with tooth number.

STEEL ALLOY PINION GEARS
Steel alloy pinions are not heat treated and should only be used with plastic spur gears. Most commonly used on Kyosho and Tamiya electric cars and trucks. In sizes 12 through 24 teeth. 1/8 inch bore. One 5-40 set screw included. 1/16 inch allen wrench (NOT INCLUDED) fits the 5/40 set screw. .6 module Steel Alloy Pinions are not marked with tooth number.

HARD NICKEL PLATED STEEL PINIONS
The 48 Pitch Hard Nickel Plated Alloy Steel Pinions are precision cut gears that last and last when used with a plastic spur gear. In sizes 12 through 40 teeth. Pinions stamped with tooth number. The bright nickel finish protects the steel from corrosion and increases lubricity of the gear by reducing friction and adhesion between the pinion and spur gear. 1/8 inch bore. One 5-40 set screw included. 1/16 inch allen wrench (NOT INCLUDED) fits the 5/40 set screw.

PREMIUM "PRO" BLACK ALUMINUM PINION
The "Pro" Pinions are precision machined from 7075 grade aluminum and anodized with a super hard jet black finish that not just hardends the surface but also protects the gear from corrosion and increases the lubricity by reducing friction and adhesion between the pinion gear and spur gear. Recommended for onroad, but they can be run off road. A wide selection of tooth sizes is available (see below for sizes). Tooth number stamped on each pinion. 1/8 inch bore. One 5-40 set screw included. 1/16 inch allen wrench (NOT INCLUDED) fits the 5/40 set screw.
